6x9mm Rondelle (100) - Brown - Vintage Czech Agate Glass Beads

$35.00 AUD

Swirled, opaque, or semi-opaque, imitating natural stone, these beads are truly unique.  Czech agate-style beads are known for their variegated, swirled appearance that mimics natural gemstones.

It took me more than an hour of researching to finally find the correct description for this style of bead.  Such satisfaction when I finally discovered their history!  Here is what I found (on the internet):

Pressed glass Czech "agate-style" beads are crafted using a traditional, multi-stage, and semi-automated process that combines heat, pressure, and tumbling to create beads with swirled colours that mimic natural agate stones. To achieve the veined, swirled look of agate, special glass canes (rods) are used. These rods often have varied colour densities or, in some cases, multiple colours, which, when melted and pressed together, create the distinctive, layered appearance. This process, primarily based in the Czech Republic, involves melting glass rods, pressing them into molds, tumbling them for smoothness, and often applying finishes to achieve the desired lustre and colour

These beads are from our famous bead haul years ago when we did a warehouse clearance from one of the original bead importers in the bead business in Australia.  You may or may not come across this style elsewhere, but not very often!  They are truly unique.
