Subject: We have a bead problem…
There is something we need to confess.
We have a LOT of beads.
Not just a lot of beads.
A LOT.
And hidden amongst the thousands upon thousands of beads at Bead Shack is a rather extraordinary collection of vintage stock that has been waiting patiently for its moment.
Here's the story…
Back around 2006, Bead Shack acquired a huge warehouse clearance from one of Australia's major wholesale and designer suppliers.
But these weren't necessarily new beads even then.
Many had already spent somewhere between 5 and 10 years sitting in storage. And some had been purchased as job lots years before that! That means they could be extremely old – maybe as old as me?
So, some of the beads we're about to release were already old when they came to us.
Which means some of them have now been waiting for their next adventure for 25–30 years or more.
And we have decided that is quite long enough.
We could throw them away.
We absolutely don't want to do that.
Because tucked away in this enormous collection are beautiful colours, unusual shapes, old finishes, discontinued styles and all sorts of things you simply don't see in bead shops anymore.
So, we're going to do something a little different.
We're going to rescue the beads.
Over the coming weeks we're going to pull boxes out of storage, rummage through our vintage treasures and release batches of them at ridiculously low prices.
Not because we don't love them.
Quite the opposite.
We want them to go somewhere they will be loved, used and turned into something wonderful.
So, if you've got room in your stash…
There are some very old beads waiting to meet you.
