The Tuareg Talhakimt pendant is a traditional silver amulet worn by the Tuareg people of the Sahara Desert. Beyond its aesthetic, the pendant signifies protection, navigation, and tribal identity, serving as a symbolic 'key to the world'.
The Tuareg inhabit the Saharan regions of North Africa - Niger, Mali, Libya, Algeria and Burkina Faso. Tuareg is an Arabic term meaning abandoned by God. They call themselves Imohag, translated as free men. No one knows the true origin of the Tuareg, where they came from or when they arrived in the Sahara.

These beads are from our famous bead haul years ago when we did a warehouse clearance from one of the original bead importers in the bead business in Australia. You may or may not come across this style elsewhere, but not very often! They are truly unique.
