What is Givre?

‘Givre’ is a French word which means ‘frosted’.  Not all beads given this title are actually frosted – some are transparent glass, but basically all givre beads have a colour within a colour – or sometimes even multiple colours – usually within a clear transparent glass

These beads are a great example of a traditional frosty givre.  With a beautiful strawberry pink swirl within the clear glass, they are a truly exceptional style of bead.  This round pressed shape is often called a Druk bead.  5mm is not a very common size any more, so grab them while you can!

Measurements:  5mm with a 0.8mm threading hole

These beads are from our famous bead haul years ago when we did a warehouse clearance from one of the original bead importers in the bead business in Australia.  You may or may not come across this style elsewhere, but not very often!  They are truly unique.
