8mm Round (100) - Caramel/White Givre - Vintage Czech Glass Beads

$27.00 AUD

These pressed round light caramel colour beads were probably made in Germany.  They have a distinct seam around their middle.  Pop them into your necklaces and make them into earrings.  Intersperse them with some little crystals or seed beads, use some bead caps, lots of ways to dress these up - or they are very beautiful on their own!

Every bead is different because of the swirls in the glass.  This bead is a stunning example of 'givre' patterning.  Find white, caramel, dark brown and cream swirls throughout the bead, in random patterning.  Every single bead is different.

‘Givre’ is a French word which means ‘frosted’.  Not all beads given this title are actually frosted – some are transparent glass, but basically all givre beads have a colour within a colour – or sometimes even multiple colours – usually within a clear transparent glass

Bead Shack has a warehouse haul from years ago with lots of vintage Czech glass beads included in that haul.  Our best guess is these were manufactured in 1980s.
