Splitrings are great for connecting items, when you aren't confident to use a jumpring. Splitrings will stay closed because they are like a small keyring. They go round and round. Don't open them up too far when attaching though, or they don't bounce back together!
If you don't have fingernails to prise them open, or have long long nails, try using either of our split ring opener tools:
