‘Givre’ is a French word which means ‘frosted’.  Not all beads given this title are actually frosted – some are transparent glass, but basically all givre beads have a colour within a colour – or sometimes even multiple colours – usually within a clear transparent glass. This bead is a stunning example of 'givre' patterning. 

Round beads like these are the very basis of making great pieces.  Just the right size for bracelet making and, of course, for anywhere else you need a stunning unusual bead like these.  Make some beautiful items - these beads will help tie in your other colour beads for a great effect.  Round pressed glass beads like these are often called Druks.

These beads are from our famous bead haul years ago when we did a warehouse clearance from one of the original bead importers in the bead business in Australia.  You may or may not come across this style elsewhere, but not very often!  They are truly unique.
