I took ages researching what the name of the bumps on these beads are called. Nobody seems to have a set name for them. Amongst my searching I saw names such as Sputnik, Spike, Hobnail, Pinata, Bumpy, Dotty, Eye, Polka Dots - so I'm not sure of the exact name. However they are lampwork glass beads, made over the heat of a flame, with the spikes added whilst the bead is still hot, Each bead will be quite unique as they are made individually.

Origin: Handmade in India around 1980s, these beads came to us through our rather infamous 'bead haul' when we emptied a retired bead dealers warehouse many years ago. The beads are new, never been used, just stored for a long time. All the beads are checked for quality before shipping.
