These beads seem to be made from a reddish terracotta clay, and then left uncoated, with just their simple markings as the adornment. Kind of beautiful in their imperfection. You would need to love this style of bead and come up something truly unique to give them what they deserve!
I'm getting really confused listing these red terracotta clay beads - some styles look like they are white on the inside, so I'm not sure whether that is a base for the 'mandrel' for the clay to stick to, or whether the pinkish/red colour has been painted on later. But then some don't look like they are white inside! I'm tending to think they are a pinkish/red clay with the patterns scored into the clay, and the white is painted on afterwards.
Measurements: About 30mm long x 8mm wide however being handmade there is a lot of variation in the sizing and shapes. We have taken photos in front of a ruler, as well as alone, to try and show the approximate sizing of the beads.
Due to the huge variation, we won't measure proportions, sizes or hole sizes here. Please refer to the photos for that kind of information.

Cylinder shaped bead with dotted lines and a 'sun' and arc shapes. These beads have one dotted line around each end, and 2 dotted lines the length of the bead. In each section between the lines are arc shapes, and that 8 dots stamp that seems to be on a couple of the other styles. Beads weigh about 4 grams each.
These clay beads are very old stock from a warehouse clearance, that we scooped up years ago. You won't find beads in many places that are like these! Truly unique handmade beads! These beads were made individually by hand in Ghana, Africa a long time ago.
These beads are from a collection of bisque fired (no glaze) terracotta/clay/ceramic. There are a lot of definitions of the way these beads are made, and if you are interested, have a google about them and gather information. They are amazing beads to find out about!
