Silky Beading Cord (20m)
This cord is very much like a nylon cord that is often marked as #18, also similar to Superlon, however it was purchased as 'embroidery thread'. It measures about .6mm thick, and all the colours in this listing are the same thickness.
This thread is very silky to touch, and the colours are simply stunning!
Perfect for stringing beads, knotting fine holed beads, or very commonly used for Kumihimo weaving, or Kumihimo bead weaving. Of course you can use it for embroidery too! However this was purchased with beading for Kumihimo in mind, so we can't offer any hints on sewing with this!
If threading beads onto this cord, because it can fray, you can try melting the end carefully with a lighter or match flame. Otherwise, try out our magical most wonderful, thoroughly recommended Collapsible Eye Needles. You will wonder how you have ever managed without them!
We have hand wound 20m onto a floss card, to keep them flat in the mail, so they can be posted in a large letter size. They are now, however, being wound on our behalf, by a young mother in Bali, Indonesia, in order to help pay for her baby son's Milk Formula! We love offering meaningful employment, and this simple (albeit tedious) job was very welcomed by our friend Dian and her little son Galang.
